On the final day of our journey, we visited the former bus station in Anniston where the Freedom Riders were beaten by the KKK on Mother’s Day in 1961.

Town officials joined us for a luncheon at Classic on Noble, a restaurant located right in front of the former bus station.

We left Anniston to visit the site of the bus burning in Bynum, Alabama and saw the Freedom Riders marker on the spot where the incident took place.

Here are all of my entries and posts about time spent exploring civil rights in Anniston.
